Name spelling often varies. I had made the assumption that the same record was indexed several times over the years, with indexers reading the names differently or with different indexing criteria. Marriage records are particularly interesting, as the bride & groom had to register their marriage where they lived. If they lived in different towns, there are two marriage records. Sometimes there is more information in one than in the other so it is wise to look at both.
