Among these are the "See Also" places, LInks to super & sub jurisdictional levels to a place, place notes, and the ability to display all info about serial publications.

We will also be modifying the Subject and Author search to return results similar to the current Place search .

Robert Kehrer
Product Mgr, Search
www.familysearch.orgOurFamilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06462712689123462904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5512311610334754148.post-88542183550352180582010-11-15T08:37:48.314-07:002010-11-15T08:37:48.314-07:00I miss the print film notes feature from the old F...I miss the print film notes feature from the old FHLC site. Their dense nature made them perfect for printing and note taking. I highlight items of interest, jot analysis of the quality of the film and record viewed, and when short on time, a quick note of items to revisit and why.

The beta site allows me to print by item, but I lose all the other information. It's like viewing only the census record for your named family and not the whole page. The one advantage to the beta site film notes is the advice to use a high magnification reader.

For now, I'll use beta as an index, and keep an open tab to the old site for printing.Corlisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5512311610334754148.post-24690481797725974102010-11-15T08:13:48.349-07:002010-11-15T08:13:48.349-07:00Drop-down menus are always a mistake. They require twice as many mouse clicks as clicking an icon: once on the arrow to get the menu to drop down and then once to select the item of choice. One extra mouse click may not seem like a big deal, but repeated extra mouse clicking is hazardous for those with wrist, hand, and finger problems. And how many genealogists are older and have such problems? Where is the Americans with Disability Act when we need it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5512311610334754148.post-57218670638416891692010-11-15T05:46:51.443-07:002010-11-15T05:46:51.443-07:00One feature of old FHLC that I miss in the new bet...One feature of old FHLC that I miss in the new beta: I can type in a county such as Cache, Utah and off to the right I can click on related places and get a list of towns in Cache County that are found in the FHLC. Same for a state. Do a search for Utah. Click on related places and get a list of counties. But not so in the new Beta FHLCKarl and Sandra Jarvishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10806159967774388453noreply@blogger.com
