Dear readers,
The holidays are already upon us and I am taking a holiday from writing.
That’s not to say I won’t accidentally post some especially hot topic. (That reminds me. Don’t forget the RootsTech early registration deadline. I’ve forgotten; is it the end of the month? Register at www.rootstech.org. But I digress…)
Website usage shows a dramatic ever decreasing amount of online genealogy done from Thanksgiving through the end of the year. That’s something to be proud of.
May each of you find joy with your living loved ones is my holiday wish to you.
See you on the other side!
But not too soon. I love those deceased ancestors as long as they are not my siblings.
ReplyDeleteThe holiday is, as you suggest, a time to celebrate living history and make memories.
ReplyDeleteIn the quiet moments, though, nestled in a comfy chair by the tree, menorah, etc., I will (as a gift to myself and the "dead" ancestors--God doesn't have any dead children), open my laptop and reflect on my genealogy treasures, look for new leads, and think of the countless friends I have throughout the world, who are doing the same. Merry Christmas, Insider, we appreciate you!
