New Sunday School Family History Class

This article is the first in a series of session reports from the recent BYU Conference on Family History and Genealogy. I tweeted the session live, but I hate to send you to Twitter to read them because they appear there in reverse chronological order. I’ve straightened them out for you here.

Todd Jones and Stephen F. Anderson, "New Resources for Teaching Family History Classes"
Later part of August new Sunday School Family History class manual and companion DVD with 13 video segments.
We learned about this DVD 2 years ago, but NFS delays have delayed the release.
See http://bit.ly/BxILu (“Fabio Stars in New FamilySearch Training DVD”)

The new manual is written with New FamilySearch (NFS) in mind, so units in Utah without NFS will have to make adaptations until you receive NFS. The 261 class is written with TempleReady in mind, so you will have to make adaptations as well.

Remember that tweets are limited to 140 characters. Less the #byugen hashtag, each tweet could not exceed 132 characters. Hence, tweets often use abbreviations, bad grammar, and lack proper punctuation.

  1. I received this note from Jill Crandell:

Just as an FYI, the BYU 261 lessons have been rewritten this summer, and when they are posted for fall semester (within the next several weeks), they will not need to be “adapted” for new FamilySearch.
